Administrative Law
Morris Laing has a long and respected history of representing clients in administrative proceedings before government agencies at all levels. Firm attorneys also assist in preparing applications and other regulatory filings for ongoing business activities, and advise clients on regulatory compliance requirements affecting business operations.
From its inception, the firm has represented oil and gas companies in matters before the Kansas Corporation Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (and its predecessor). We have represented electric and natural gas public utilities and telecommunications providers in state regulatory proceedings.
The firm has long had a strong employment law practice, and our attorneys have regularly represented employer clients in all types of administrative proceedings.
We routinely represent clients in formal and informal proceedings and appeals before such agencies as the Board of Tax Appeals, the Kansas Corporation Commission, the Office of the Securities Commissioner; the Internal Revenue Service, the Kansas Department of Revenue, the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, the Kansas Human Rights Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the United States Department of Labor, and the Kansas Department of Labor.
