Investigations
Morris Laing has attorneys who are experienced in conducting neutral investigations regarding workplace complaints (sexual harassment, unlawful discrimination, retaliation and bullying, by way of example) in private companies and not-for-profit organizations, and educational institutions(colleges, universities, K-12 schools). Having an attorney-investigator who is experienced in the legal issues that are implicated in the many situations where a complaint is made helps to insure that the investigation is focused on the right issues, and that the investigation provides direction, as well as legal protection, for the company involved. The investigative process can also be an effective tool to aid management in making decisions, such as about employee discipline or terminations, accommodations for a disability or religious practice, or addressing internal conflict.
