Joon K. Park
The managing attorney at Morris Laing’s Chicago office, Mr. Park practices general civil litigation. He represents mortgage lenders and servicers in state and federal litigation, and is licensed to practice law in Michigan, Kansas and Illinois.
Joon is a Co-founder of Scarlet Evolution International, LLC, Morris Laing’s exciting new subsidiary dedicated to the representation and management of gamers and players in the professional eSports community.
Born in South Korea, Joon’s family moved to Michigan when he was three years old. Like most kids, he grew up playing baseball and football and worked at the local grocery store bagging groceries. He graduated from the University of Michigan where he received a B.A. and M.S.W, while cultivating his lifelong obsession with Wolverine football.
Upon graduation, he spent a summer in Taiwan and South Korea mostly eating a lot of delicious street food and occasionally tutoring students in English. Upon his return to the States, he went to Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he graduated with a JD in 1998.
Joon began his professional career in health care consulting in Washington, DC. From there he returned to Michigan and focused on medical malpractice defense and later financial services litigation. He later moved to Wichita, Kansas to join Morris Laing’s Financial Services practice group. Joon’s career and travels finally landed him in Morris Laing’s Chicago office, where he is Managing Shareholder.
When he’s not thinking about food, Wolverine football, and immersing himself in the electronic dance scene, Joon enjoys daydreaming about travelling all around the world.
